Girls Scouts of America work hard to make a difference in the lives of young girls and young women. Knowing about human trafficking and HT prevention has been an objective of Troop 3754 since early 2018. After almost 18 months of hard work in partnership with OEW/ Youth4Abolition, this troop of determined, now high school, Girl Scouts worked to make a HUGE difference by sharing awareness of the hideous crime of human trafficking with their peers.

Their Silver Award project created a Human Trafficking Awareness Girl Scout merit badge for local, and potentially national, Girl Scouts all ages. “Earning their Silver Award and bridging to Seniors is a big deal”, says their troop leader. “Our girls are so passionate about the cause of human trafficking; we just knew that this was the perfect match for their project. They’ve really enjoyed working with Youth4Abolition and On Eagles Wings and feel confident that their hard work will impact the lives of many girls who need to know about human trafficking and, hopefully will join the fight against modern day slavery.”

Youth4Abolition works with high schools, colleges, churches and community groups to spread peer-to-peer awareness and prevention of human trafficking. Please contact Cindy@youth4abolition.com if you know of any schools or groups interested in getting involved. Way to go Troop 3754!
